On a short distance from the dive shop you will find this dive side for car enthusiasts and wreck lovers alike. Dumped atop a damaged reef in the 1960’s in an effort to create an artificial reef, the Car Pile is gradually being reclaimed by the sea. You’ll find not only cars but also trucks and construction equipment. Take a camera and take a picture of your buddy with his favorite car of the 1940’s. The Car Pile itself is in front of the Breezes hotel and is easy accessible from the public beach of Marie Pompoen. On the way to the Car Pile you swim over a variety of shallow coral. This area is great for novice divers and gives the opportunity to see tarpon, barracuda, squid and lots of small fish. After 15 minutes in the dive you stumble on top the pile of cars. It runs from 60 feet till below 150 feet, so keep an eye on your depth gauge.
