This course has a different setup than the Open Water Diver course. During the Advanced Open Water course you can focus more on your interests and can gain extra knowledge in the different aspects of diving. You will make a total of five dives. The underwater navigation and the deep dive are two fixed dives during the course.
For the remaining three dives you can choose from the following options:
- multilevel dive
- night dive
- naturalist
- nitrox dive
- underwater photography
- peak performance buoyancy
- search en recovery
- wreck dive
- diver propulsion vehicle (DPV) dive
The theory part of the course mainly consists out of self-study. You will read the part of the book that covers the dive you are going to make and before the dive the instructor will elaborate the knowledge review. In contrary to the Open Water Diver course there is no written exam for this course.
Requirements for participation:
- PADI Open Water Diver or qualifying certification.
- Minimum Age: 12.
- Participants between 12-15 years of age will receive the junior certification.
Duration of course: 2 ½ days (5 dives).
