Vaersenbaai

On the short drive to this beautiful natural bay, you come along the Salinas of Sint Michiel with it's pink flamingos, a sight you should not miss. The diving here is easy because it is protected against the waves and current. There are big schools of fish and the coral is abundant with big fields of finger coral and a lot of elephant ear sponges. In the depth a sunken pontoon makes a beautiful picture and is worth exploring. This pontoon was used to ferry the cars to nearby dive spot "Car Wrecks" and later on sunken in a storm. Pay attention to your depth as the pontoon sits on a depth from 75 feet till 120 feet. The site Car Wrecks is also accessible from Vaersen Bay, but makes for a long swim and because of the depth, advisable only for avid divers.
